General Wingate Polytechnic College
Welcome to the 4th edition of the Skills Bulletin of GWPTC/EASTRIP. I am extremely excited that this newsletter is coming out at a time when GWPTC has made profound changes, ranging from moderation of its governance and leadership, improving quality and relevance of TVET, implementation of digital and green transitions, aggressively engaging in income generation, as well undertaking strategic community services and discharging its social responsibilities.
In response to its new challenges, the College often undertakes new forms of institutional-level capacity building through East Africa Skills for Transformation and Regional Integration Project (EASTRIP). GWPTC has recently certified with ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System. It has also received Gold Level Industrial Higher Honor Award for its extraordinary performance in industry and exemplary achievements and contribution to the country.
As part of efforts to realize our missions and vision, we are working towards making our academic programs more responsive to labour market needs in order to enable trainees acquire employable skills, hence make a living through self-employment or wage-earning jobs. We are diligently seeking to make GWPTC an attractive place for training and employment.
Our Skills Bulletin has been specifically designed to provide relevant up-to-date information on the strategically selected thematic areas. I kindly ask you to share your feedback and suggestions.
"Warm Regards,"
